*****30 HOUR OSHA*****

The local 22 training department will be conducting another 30 hour OSHA class. Please contact Joe or Mary to get registered 662-5752.

Dates: 5/6/08 to 5/29/08

Time: 5:00pm-9:00pm

Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the exception of one Wednesday May 7th.

Buffalo Bisons Friday Night Bash

The athletic committee is sponsoring a Buffalo Bisons Friday night bash. The tickets are available at the union meetings and at the union hall. The tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis with a limited amount of tickets. For $10 you will receive a game ticket and $10 in Bisons Bucks which can be used for food and beverage.

UNION MEETINGS

The next union meeting will be held on Thursday, May 8th, 2008.

Meetings are held at the Mathew Glab Post, 1965 Abbott Road, Lackawana, N.Y. 14218. The meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month and will start at 7:00PM....

****UNION MEETING DATE CHANGE****

The August union meeting will be held on Thursday August 21, 2008, this is actually the third Thursday of August instead of the second Thursday of August. This is being done to accommodate for the award of years of service pins. This will also enable the instructors that participate in the apprentice instructor training program to attend the August union meeting. The start time for this meeting may also be adjusted.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

Thanks to everyone who showed up to march in the parade. I believe we had more participation this year than any other year. It's great we have so many proud members. (Pictures to the picture page coming soon.)

A very special thanks to all of the members that participated and traveled to Albany on Tuesday March 11th for lobby day. Once again our law makers were able to see and hear from the leadership and membership of local 22. It's great to see our membership take time out of their personal time to make this worth while trip.

Welcome to our new web site, which has been updated to provide an array of valuable and important information for our members and those seeking a career with U.A. Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 22.

If you didn't know, our highly-trained and skilled member plumbers, pipe and steamfitters, heating and air-conditioning technicians have been involved in constructing many of Western New York's major and most recognizable building projects over the years, including the Albright-Knox Art Museum in Buffalo, the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, DuPont Chemical, the Seneca Nation of Indians' casinos in Niagara Falls and in Salamanca, and Ralph Wilson Stadium, to name just a few.

And we just didn't build these projects by accident. Local 22's member plumbers and steamfitters achieve a high level of quality by completing a multi-year and extensive apprenticeship program at our Orchard Park, N.Y.-training center. Our union provides nothing but the best when it comes to skilled trades people for employment at dozens of union contractors located across our eight-county region.
